In this season of Advent, we like to pause, reflect and appreciate each person who makes our mission possible. At Vi Bella, there are so many moving parts. From the women who design our products, to the hands that make them, we have much to be thankful for in this season of giving.

Vi Bella was founded out of a deep-rooted desire to help those in need. When our Founder, Julie, visited Haiti for the first time, she was shocked at the poverty that so many people were experiencing. More than a feeling of sympathy, Julie was inspired to action. We serve a good God who makes all things possible, including Julie’s vision for a business model that provided these men and women in Haiti with stable, healthy employment. Since 2011, we have been able to help over 60 artisans walk out of poverty, care for their children, find healthy living conditions and even provide education for their children. When we reflect on Vi Bella’s impact, we are humbled and thankful to extend the love of God to each one of our artisans and the communities in which they live.

Each Christmas, we pause to reflect on the true reason for the season, the birth of Jesus. That event, so many years ago is a beacon of light in a dark world. Not only does it provide hope, but it shows that God truly is faithful, something we experience each day at Vi Bella. We are able to see His faithfulness through the way we are able to connect our artisans to a home they are proud to call their own, through the food they are able to feed their families. We’ve experienced His faithfulness by God providing just the right people at the right time, or by bearing witness to the work He is doing in Haiti and Mexico. While God is moving in very visible ways at Vi Bella, we know that he is faithful and moving in ways that we cannot yet see or comprehend. Because of God’s promise, we are able to make a difference.

Our mission at Vi Bella is deeply connected to the birth of Jesus. God becoming human shows how much he loves us and wants us to partner with him. He could have snapped his fingers and saved the world, but instead he came into our messy world as a human and lived among us, Immanuel, healing, teaching, and caring for the poor. Just as he called his disciples to join with him in deeply caring for and healing his people, he calls us to join in the restoration work he is doing here and now. God chooses to use people to do the holy work of creating, redeeming, restoring and loving. He is making all things new!

This season, we want to encourage you to recognize the places in your life where you see God at work, where you experience His promises and unmistakable hope amidst difficult situations. Christmas is a season of giving, but more than that, it is the season where Christ gave so much for us. If you are interested in getting more involved with our mission and impact here at Vi Bella, learn more about our sister non-profit, Vi Bella Serves. With your support, we are able to extend our impact and create beautiful lives for more artisans each year. Merry Christmas from the Vi Bella team to you and your family. We are thankful for your support in every season.
